Meet the Heart Behind Animal Medical Center

Dr. Keri Weyenberg
While Dr. Weyenberg is originally from Milwaukee, she has been a happy resident of the Fox Valley since graduating from UW-Madison in 2014. She enjoys all aspects of general practice but has particular interests in Internal Medicine, Exotics and building long-term relationships with clients. When not in the clinic, she spends time hiking, reading and traveling. She shares her home with her husband, two children and a small circus of feathered, scaly and furry friends.

Dr. Christine Barber
Dr. Chris Barber joined our clinic in August 1995. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. With decades of experience, she’s passionate about providing high-quality surgical care and enjoys the variety of species she gets to see each day.
At home, Dr. Barber shares her life with her husband Joe and their two orange cats, Steve and Dash. In her free time, she loves reading, Stephen King is her favorite author. She also enjoys watching Packers games (When they win of course!), ATVing and relaxing with a good horror movie.
Staff

Client Service Representative
Emily joined our team in May 2023, bringing with her a background in biology and criminal justice from UW–Platteville. She’s passionate about building strong connections with both clients and their pets, and she especially enjoys caring for small mammals.
Emily lives with her husband Ben and their unique pet family: three cats (Mimi, Loki, and Daisy), a snake named Noodles, a Syrian hamster named Miso, and two goldfish—Joefish and Squirt. Outside of work, she loves wildlife and plant photography, trying new foods and restaurants, traveling, and playing board games with family.

Certified Veterinary Technician
Sheri joined our clinic in June 2021 and brings nearly a decade of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician. She holds a B.S. in Psychology and an A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology, and she’s especially passionate about expanding her skills while caring for a wide variety of patients, including exotic pets. Sheri enjoys assisting with surgical and dental procedures and values the opportunity to continue learning every day in the field of veterinary medicine.
At home, Sheri shares her life with her boxer, Mayday, and three guinea pigs- Cheesecake, TukTuk, and George. In her free time, she enjoys reading, binge-watching her favorite shows, and traveling.

Client Service Representative
April joined our clinic in July 2024 with over six years of experience in veterinary client care and a lifelong background in customer service. She’s passionate about supporting both pets and their people, and she finds joy in helping clients while continuing to learn more about the field of veterinary medicine.
At home, April and her husband share their lives with three cats—Max, Egg, and Oliver Twist. A proud “crazy cat lady,” April enjoys live music, gardening, yoga, traveling, and bargain shopping in her free time.

Veterinary Assistant
Jacqueline joined our team in October 2024, bringing with her several years of experience as a veterinary assistant. She’s passionate about being part of each pet’s healing journey and finds fulfillment in playing a vital role in their care and recovery.
At home, Jacqueline shares her life with Ember & Dug, her spirited Golden Retrievers. In her free time, she enjoys reading, boating, and kayaking and in general enjoying the outdoors. Jacqueline is excited to continue growing in the field of veterinary medicine while supporting both pets and their people.

Kennel Assistant
Lucy joined our clinic in July 2025. Although new to veterinary care, she enjoys seeing all the different pets that come in and is excited to learn more about the field. At home, Lucy has two dogs and several cats. In her free time, she loves to draw and looks forward to growing with our team.

IT / Graphic Designer
Jim became part of our team in September 2024, bringing decades of experience as a graphic designer and illustrator. He’s worked with ad agencies, web developers, and even ran his own design firm, Crooked Jaw Design. He also spent nearly ten years teaching design at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design. Whether he’s solving a tech issue or designing visuals, Jim loves tackling complex problems creatively.
At home, Jim has a full house of pets—including dogs, cats, fish, and a lizard. When he’s not working, you’ll find him drawing or painting, always exploring new creative outlets.
