Common Hazards:
Dogs and Cats:
Pesticides and fertilizers on lawns
Spring allergies causing itching, sneezing, or watery eyes
Open windows and doors increasing escape risk
Exotic Pets:
Outdoor enclosures may expose them to fluctuating temperatures or predators
Pesticides, fertilizers, and flowering plants can be toxic if ingested
Safety Tips:
Avoid letting pets roam on freshly treated lawns
Rinse paws after outdoor play
Keep windows screened and supervise pets near doors
Monitor exotics’ outdoor exposure and provide safe shelter
